Kijuan Poland is a Baton Rouge native, Southern University and A&M College graduate, and co-founder of Monster Wellness Consultants. With a degree in electrical engineering, his early career included a Brookhaven National Lab internship and two co-ops with Johnson & Johnson.



Upon graduation, Kijuan joined Eaton Corporation’s prestigious three-year rotational Operations Engineering Leadership Development Program, working as a manufacturing engineer in South Carolina, quality engineer in North Carolina, and shift leader in Georgia.


Kijuan went on to serve as a division quality engineer in Eaton’s lighting division, overseeing the quality of outdoor and exit lighting products with manufacturing oversight in Juarez, Mexico, and Vicksburg, Mississippi. Alongside his corporate work, he championed community engagement serving on the board of the Jaguar Foundation of Atlanta, raising scholarship funds for Southern University students, and leading membership initiatives with the Urban League Young Professionals of Atlanta. His leadership and impact were recognized with the Southern University Alumni Federation’s 40 Under Forty Award.



Motivated by a passion for diversity in STEM and talent development, Kijuan pursued his MBA with a concentration in human resources. During his studies, he joined Harris Corporation as an HR intern, managing the internship program and advancing employee engagement. Upon graduation, he became Engagement & Inclusion Specialist. After years and some internal movement he later transitioned to Warner Media (now Warner Bros. Discovery) in Diversity Outreach. There, Kijuan not only sourced diverse talent but created intentional spaces for them to connect with decision makers earning a promotion to Lead and later Manager, overseeing a three-person team.



His dedication to community remained constant. In 2020, he received the LASAP TRIO Achiever Award, and in 2023, served as chair for the Southern University Alumni Federation’s 40 Under Forty Awards ceremony, helping to raise tens of thousands of dollars for alumni initiatives.


After leaving Warner Bros. Discovery, Kijuan combined

his corporate, HR, and wellness advocacy with co-founder Sam to launch Monster Wellness Consultants, delivering organizational wellness strategies to businesses and communities. In parallel, he has served as an HR department of one at a New Orleans design firm, bringing both strategic leadership and a personal touch to people operations.


From engineering to HR, from boardrooms to community events, Kijuan’s journey reflects his belief that thriving organizations start with thriving people and his work continues to bridge technical precision with human-centered leadership.
